Days of Future Passed
or The Big One or The Artfuck 2026 Triptych

So the day the event opened, before it fully started, I made a thread in the event discord asking for volunteers for a "big fucking orgy" and I *meant it.* I had the vision of trying to include as many characters as possible (for me) in one piece and to do it by incorporating something I really like conceptually: triptychs.
I think the number one thing I wanted was that everyone felt like they got something out of it? I do think I missed the mark a few times but I did really genuinely want people to be able to crop down to their character and feel like it was it's own engagement. It took so much planning to get everyone into groups by their preferences that I had a spreadsheet of everyone who offered their characters for this in the aforementioned thread. I included everyone who volunteered their character and several of my own characters, so that was, to my count 41 characters.
There's probably something wrong with me.
I had my spreadsheet so I started by researching, and finding triptychs I liked, which included the most obvious one: The Garden of Earthly Delights. The frame is very inspired by a Gerard David work, some of the scenery was inspired by an Antwerp School, and the left having a bridge was inspired by a Peter Paul Rubens.

SO I was very very inspired by a lot of historical works. Maybe it's funny to be a random guy in 2026 making porn with my inspirations being masters from centuries ago... but I don't think I would have had the idea to pull it off at all without knowing any of these things lmao
Aside from inspirations, the concept was the triptych shows the progression of a day long orgy, from the early morning, the long afternoon, to deep into the night. I avoided following the Garden of Early Delights right wing being "disturbing" because I didn't want to add a bunch of content in a single part of this work that would exclude people from viewing the entire painting.
Then came my humble thumbnail. I initially wasn't going to include everyone, but the more I thought about it, the worse I felt for anyone who wasn't getting included, so include them I did! The other benefit is that I can say I Did That. I included 41 characters in one piece. This has been about proving something to myself, and saying yeah, I can do this stuff. I always stop myself from committing to anything really out there for myself and only myself, and then that means no one knows I can do it, and so no one would ever ask me to do it for money, so then it will never happen even if I'm capable. NO MORE!

Anyway. To make my life easier, I speed modeled the environment in blender, it took an hour/hour and a half to do, but then took like another hour to fight with CSPs importer tool. From there I had to add all of the CSPs models, because to keep this from taking up even more time than it did, I was gonna use the models to keep my proportions in check. However, I didn't scale my environment model correctly so it was very out of scale to the 3d models in CSP. I knew the arch was supposed to be 10ft tall, and my tallest volunteer was 8ft tall, and scaled everyone according to them. Hunter is their name and you'll see them later. This means each wing had a load bearing Hunter for scale purposes.

You might be able to imagine what comes after that. I did the background painting on it's own first, I'm so proud of them and I do plan on using two of them in some kind of print or merch or something I can show people that aren't the kinds of people you show porn to. I feel like I took everything I learned doing other paintings and just actually made something *mine.* Somewhere in here I worked on the frame in Affinity.

Then. Sketching. Sketching and then lining and then coloring... and then OOPS, double checking character information meant after all that work, I had missed something. I had missed a character having penetration as a no-go, which, fuck me, I was getting so close to the end. I needed an emergency replacement so I took to the server again and asked for reinforcements! In the blink of an eye someone swooped in and handed their character over for the cause. So I redid the art and colors for this newcomer. I also had two sneaky people go and share their characters in the thread, and used them to help relocate the character I had to remove.
Which does bring me to the fact I did make another mistake regarding character preferences, and the artist pointed it out to me, which, yeah it feels bad to miss something! I noticed a detail on another character I missed but the character's handler didn't mention, and had 2 more bring up small things that were a bit unclear on the ref sheets. As much as I wish this was perfect and had no issues, it does have issues! I don't think that's the worst thing ever though, we all make mistakes and I was trying to speedrun the kind of work better suited to months of labor.
By now though, I was almost done. But it felt unfinished somehow. There were huge gaps on the canvas because of the shape of the frame was very cool, but unfavorable for a flat image. I ran off to find two characters who's owners would hopefully have the sense of humor to enjoy their sillies used as sexy cherubs holding a banner with the lyrics to Sexyback, and so I did! I quickly drew them in and roughly painted some clouds behind them, and then threw the text together in Affinity and....
I WAS DONE. (Except for the part where it took me over an hour to tag everyone in a massive thread on bluesky.)
I'll take just a bit longer for my final thoughts here, like how I think my weakness here with this piece was not actively showing "the juicy bits" with many of the groupings, I tried to make up for it with expressions and other details in the posing because I actually was thinking through the whole process about the kinds of dialogue and conversations that would be happening through all of them. If it wasn't for it being of an homage to renaissance era works, I would have included those conversations.
Lastly, I want to thank everyone so much for letting me draw their characters! I don't know how many of you are reading but thank you for letting me use your beloved little blorbos for something so wild. A big thank you to everyone who complimented this in discord or on bluesky too, it means a lot more than I feel like I could communicate through text, but it helped push aside a lot of feelings of inadequacy and fear of being an 'imposter.' I don't think I've ever had such an outpouring of support on my work that wasn't fanart of a massive franchise.
Thanks yall.
