character design

A design sheet for the character Citri Tréa. A Dwarven woman with light blue skin with a large beard with twin tails. She has huge, blue hair with lime green streaks that go down her waist, ending in hair buns tied by beads and orange freckles across her cheeks. She’s wearing blue shorts- That has an orange as a belt buckle- with black suspenders and a lime green off-the-shoulder top. She has pink leggings underneath blue leg warmers above platform shoes. She dons a plethora of trinkets & accessories like hair pins, bracelets and rings that have googly eyes on the middle & index fingers on her right hand. Besides her is a giant, orange rail gun with a serrated edge that’s covered in stickers.
A reference sheet featuring the designs of Val’s sonas. The sheet’s aesthetic takes on cues from 90’s websites, calling upon bright colours and the use of desktop windows for the frames. Both versions of the design are bottom heavy humanoid with pale skin, dual toned horns & eyes with blue & red, glasses with red lenses and black hands with golden nails. On the left is the feminine version, being larger in height and proportions, his long hair reaching his back, his two bangs going down to his chest, with one of them highlighted blonde. He wears a red sweater, white pants and dark, maroon boots. One the right is the masculine version, wearing a blue trench coat over a brown shirt with a zipper, navy blue bell bottoms and brown dress shoes. His hair is wide and a lighter shade of blue, with white underneath. Next to those designs are his demon forms, both with large, white bodies with black on their multiple hands & legs and a similar dual toned horns, eyes and shoulders. The left one is more humanoid in his body plan while the other has the lower half of a centipede, with humanoid hands in place of insect legs.
Updated design sheet for the characters Abby McPhearson & Dennis Doe. Abby is short, stout & spectral, her colour scheme only consisting of varying shades of teal. Her hair is in a ponytail that floats up into the air like a ghostly flame, the straps of her jacket also in suspension. Underneath the jacket is a cropped tank top, a spike collar with chains hanging from it, torn denim shorts and doc martens with one leg in fishnets. Dennis is tall & slender with dark skin and pink, fro-y hair that’s formed to be a mowhawk. Underneath their dark red tentacles disguised as a cloak is a sleeveless, dark green bodysuit, which shows off their insectoid arms, and fills out the shape of their wide hips and thighs that go down to red footwear wrapped around the ankles, which exposes their claw-like feet. Their mouth can separate into four sections, two for the jawlines and two for each side of their chin. Behind their tentacles are another pair of appendages that seem to be coming from their back. Biblically accurate angel. Its head is golden & ornate, taking the shape of a rigid, upside down cone with each side featuring a dark eye, long spikes being suspended around its flat head, invoking the shape of a crown. Beneath its wide, intricate collar piece is a long, flowing amber cloth, part of it blowing to reveal that nothing is underneath the body.
A cultist that appeared in a dream. A large human figure, donning a white, bloodstained gas mask. They wear a stained apron that’s orange lined, with a mysterious symbol featuring a sideways eye.They wear red pants along with brown boots that go up to their thighs and big, black rubber gloves. Their chest is exposed, their breasts appearing to have cuts on them, with straps for something on their back above the chest. In their hand is a large, rusty cleaver.
Another cultist that appeared in a dream. A tall & lean figure with a red velvet mask with horns with fringes and a symbol on the top of each tip, along with hooks at the bottom of the cowl that suspend the person’s mouth, creating a permanent smile. Above their shoulder straps is a sash, the aforementioned eye symbol appearing on both ends. On their arms are shoulder pads with bracers that have fringes on them. Underneath their robes, also in red velvet, are distressed leggings that go up to the waist, ending with boots that have a random assortment of leather straps and metal attached to them
Yorick, A supernatural human, he’s wearing a jester outfit, with the shoulders and pants puffed & slashed, in varying shades of purples, with his boots, gloves and belt being brown. His venetian mask, ornate & abstract with bells at the end of its appendages, hides the absence of Yorick’s head, with a billowing, purple smoking in its place.
Turner Aten-Shaw, A human, his face is modelled after the actor Gene Wilder when he was in Young Frankenstein, with frizzy hair, a sharp moustache and goggles that are currently resting around his neck.. He wears a brown cape over a green coat with puffed & slashed shoulders, with puffy, orange pants that go down to his brown boots. Beside his brown belt with blue, glowing potions is a rusty canister, held up by a shoulder strap, that also contains a glowing blue energy. His left hand is donned with a device connected to the canister, that has an almost centipede like contraption wrapped around his index finger with sharp appendages to connect itself to the finger.
Neo-Titania, A large, insectoid with a dark blue exoskeleton, their exposed flesh is a deep green, the fluids from their abdomen & eyes being of sickly greens and oranges. One side of their face has two eyes while the other has three above a large, toothy maw whose jaw can split into two. Parts of their body are held together by hollow, silver scaffold-like constructs that are ornate in aesthetic. In place of a left arm is a giant, silver blade with a rigid edge on its back and behind its two long antennae is an ornate decoration on the scalp of their head.
Morgana, The living version of this giant insectoid, her glass limbs are constructed like doll limbs with ball joints in place of regular joints that connect to her green, muscular body with yellow glass breast pieces & waist piece, her hands & feet glowing pink like her remaining antennae above her dark eyes with colour pupils. Her hair is almost as large as she is, black and messy, obscuring half of her snow white face.
Apollo, A tan skinned woman with medium black hair and fierce eyes decorated with red eyeshadow. Below her dark purple crop jacket is a red & yellow bodysuit with sinewy black streamlines that go down to her sneakers, sharing the same colours as her jacket but with red that goes down the front. In her hand is a futuristic microphone with a black handle and a white base with a red cover for the mic.

An illustration featuring the character Eve from the game No Straight Roads, which was used as an in-world asset and HUD design for the game’s steam port, Encore Edition. A tall woman with pink & white dual toned skin and long, blond hair. Her arms have multiplied to two more pairs, the middle and bottom pair wrapping around her waist and her top pair wrapped behind her head. The background behind her has her signature abstract aesthetic with geometric triangles with her skin color, eyes and a white hand coming down from above to reach her flowing hair. Below the two screencaps of the illustration being used as a design for a guitar case for the game’s hud and the piece as in-world graffiti, is Val’s name highlighted in the credits.
No Straight Roads: Encore Edition
An illustration featuring the characters Mayday, Zuke & Ellie from the game No Straight Roads, which was presented in a LGBT+ fan zine for the game. The three are in their home, the sewers, decorated with blankets & Christmas lights suspended from the ceilings. Zuke, a green human with blue, tied up dreads, is joyfully holding Ellie, a tiny blue alligator, who’s wearing a tank top featuring the colors of the bisexual flag. Mayday, an orange skinned woman with blond hair, is at the back, climbing on top of a giant, pink sofa to hang up the original pride flag onto the wall.
No Straight Roads Fan Zine
A sprite sheet featuring the characters Dennis Doe & Abby McPhearson for the Monster Prom mod “Dennis Doe - Mostly Ghostly”. Dennis is tall & slender with dark skin and pink, fro-y hair that’s formed to be a mowhawk. The jacket is a dark maroon, underneath it being a shirt with a winky face design, basic blue jeans and sneakers. Abby is short, stout & spectral, her skin & hair are a ghostly teal, her clothing mostly in dark clothing like her navy blue tank top and dark maroon shorts & boots. The back of her hair is tied into a ponytail that flows up into the air like a ghostly flame. Her version of the jacket appears as if it’s being exposed under black light, based with a deep dark purple, outlined by stains that are a glowing magenta. Each character has been copied two times with different expressions, with Dennis showing neutral, shocked & disappointed expressions while Abby has her neutral, confused and rageful faces.

A rough design draft for a character referred to as “homunculi”. A tall, inorganic, horrific creature with a red, slim body with black stripes that go down the middle of their torso, arms and legs, with large, spiky hands that glow green and feet that are more a mess of tendrils. A row of teeth goes down the middle of their body from their chest to their crotch, with small breasts that don glowing circles beside it. Above the chest is a head donning a white, tranquil mask with long black horns, held by a long, crooked neck.
Rough design sketches for the character Sandy Crane, also known as the “The Moth”. A person in a giant monster costume, the outfit is modelled after a Baphomet moth, with a buff red body with black fur that covers the outside of their limbs, with mechanical hands and feet with long fingers. They mask with white fur and black compound eyes, with a rebreather with two tubes that go down into the suit. The sketch besides the design is The Moth is holding their arms out to show their white wingsuit gliders and 4, giant inflatable tubes made to resemble a Baphomet moth’s tendrils.
